IMPLEMENTASI TEKNIK PENGATURAN LUMINANCE PADA TAHAP COMPOSITING UNTUK MENENTUKAN FOCAL POINT VISUAL DALAM ANIMASI “LANTERN OF ARCHIPELAGO”

The rapid development of digital technology has changed the interaction
patterns of the younger generation and has the potential to diminish attention to
national cultural values. In the animation industry, the clarity of the visual focal
point plays a crucial role in ensuring that the story’s message is effectively delivered
to the audience. Nevertheless, inaccuracies in its practical application are still
frequently observed in certain scenes within animated films. This study aims to
analyse and apply luminance settings during the compositing stage to determine
the focal point in the animation “Lantern of Archipelago”. The method used in this
study is practice-based research with a descriptive qualitative approach through
design, observation, and evaluation using grayscale analysis. The results show that
appropriate luminance settings can enhance audience focus and strengthen the
animation’s visuals.

Perkembangan teknologi digital yang pesat telah mengubah pola interaksi
generasi muda dan berpotensi menurunkan perhatian terhadap nilai budaya
nasional. Dalam industri animasi, kejelasan focal point visual memiliki peran
penting agar pesan cerita tersampaikan dengan baik kepada penontonnya. Namun,
masih sering didapati ketidaktepatan penerapan dalam prakteknya dalam beberapa
adegan di suatu film animasi. Penulisan ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis dan
menerapkan pengaturan luminance pada tahap compositing untuk menentukan
vocal point dalam animasi Lantern of Archipelago. Metode yang digunakan pada
penulisan ini adalah practice-based research dengan pendekatan kualitatif
deskriptif melalui perancangan, observasi, dan evaluasi menggunakan analisis
grayscale. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa pengaturan luminance yang tepat mampu
meningkatkan fokus penonton dan memperkuat visual animasi.
