PEMBUATAN ANIMATIC STORYBOARD DALAM MEMBANGUN EMOSI MELALUI KOMPOSISI VISUAL DAN RITME EDITING PADA FILM ANIMASI 3D “OUT OF TIME”

ABSTRACT
Animatic storyboardsfunction to design story arcs and durations before animation
production. However, their use is often limited to technical guidance rather than
emotional delivery. This study aims to design an animatic storyboard for the film
Out of Time based on visual composition and editing rhythm. A descriptive
qualitative method was used through exploration, design, and realization stages.
Data were collected via literature review, observation, and interviews. The
workflow involved translating the script into a shot list, applying Bruce Block's
theory, and adjusting the pacing. The result is an animatic storyboard that
effectively builds scene drama and supports emotional delivery.

ABSTRAK
Animatic storyboard berfungsi merancang alur cerita dan durasi sebelum produksi
animasi. Namun, pemanfaatannya kerap terbatas pada panduan teknis, bukanmedia
penyampai emosi. Penelitian ini bertujuan merancang animatic storyboard filmOut
of Time berbasis komposisi visual dan ritme editing. Metode kualitatif deskriptif
digunakan melalui tahapan eksplorasi, perancangan, dan perwujudan. Data
dikumpulkan lewat studi pustaka, observasi, dan wawancara. Langkah kerja
dilakukan dengan menerjemahkan naskah ke shot list, lalu menerapkan teori Bruce
Block serta pengaturan pacing. Hasilnya berupa animatic storyboard yang efektif
membangun dramatik adegan dan mendukung penyampaian emosi.
