Abstract
film animasi.
Achieving a stylized 2D look on 3D Computer Graphics (CG) assets often faces
technical constraints, including a rigid appearance in standard rendering and
outline distortion (line wiggling) during dynamic camera movements. This Final
Project implements the Non-Photorealistic Rendering (NPR) technique in creating
the 3D character "Warna" for the short animated film "Napas Kota" to examine its
visual accuracy. Through pipeline optimization, the Inverted Hull method is applied
to lock outline thickness consistently. Furthermore, the lighting system is
configured using the cel shading technique with sharp threshold parameters
(ColorRamp) to produce distinctive shadows that minimize unnatural material
shifts. The post-production stage utilizes compositing to enhance the visual contrast
between the NPR-styled main character and the bleak background depicting waste
issues and the importance of urban Green Open Space (RTH). The implementation
proves that the NPR technique is highly effective in maintaining traditional handdrawn characteristics within a 3D digital environment and successfully establishes
an optimal depth separation throughout the animated film.
