PENERAPAN EFEK SUARA INTERNAL DIEGETIC DALAM MEMBANGUN SISI EMOSIONAL PADA KARAKTER RINA DALAM FILM “HILANG ARAH”

This final project discusses the application of internal diegetic sound effects in building the emotional dimension of the character Rina in the short film Hilang Arah, a psychological drama that explores family conflict and the psychological condition of its characters. In film, sound effects function not only as complements to visual elements but also as narrative devices that create atmosphere, strengthen dramatic tension, and convey emotional experiences to the audience. This study aims to explain the application of internal diegetic in building Rina's emotional dimension through the representation of her subjective auditory experience. The methods employed include literature review, observation, and the author's direct involvement as the sound designer throughout the pre-production, production, and post-production stages. The design process consisted of script analysis, dialogue and ambience recording, sound effects editing, and audio mixing. The results indicate that internal diegetic effectively strengthens the portrayal of the character's psychological condition through the manipulation of sound effects such as heartbeat, breathing, tinnitus, and ambience reduction, allowing the audience to experience the character's emotions in a more immersive way..

Penulisan tugas akhir ini membahas penerapan efek suara internal diegetic dalam membangun sisi emosional karakter Rina pada film pendek Hilang Arah, sebuah film bergenre drama psikologis yang mengangkat konflik keluarga dan kondisi psikologis tokohnya. Dalam film, efek suara tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai pelengkap visual, tetapi juga sebagai elemen naratif yang mampu membangun atmosfer, memperkuat dramatik, dan menghadirkan pengalaman emosional kepada penonton. Penulisan ini bertujuan menjelaskan penerapan internal diegetic dalam membangun sisi emosional karakter Rina melalui pengalaman pendengaran subjektif. Metode yang digunakan meliputi studi pustaka, observasi, serta keterlibatan langsung penulis sebagai penata suara pada tahap praproduksi, produksi, dan pascaproduksi. Proses perancangan meliputi analisis naskah, perekaman dialog dan ambience, penyuntingan efek suara, serta proses mixing. Hasil penerapan menunjukkan bahwa internal diegetic mampu memperkuat representasi kondisi psikologis karakter melalui manipulasi efek suara seperti detak jantung, napas, tinnitus, dan pengurangan ambience, sehingga penonton dapat merasakan pengalaman emosional karakter secara lebih imersif.
