PENERAPAN SOUND EFFECT UNTUK MENDUKUNG UNSUR KOMEDI PADA PROGRAM "TAKHAYUL"

ABSTRACT

The rapid development of the audiovisual industry has increased the demand for high-quality production, not only in visual aspects but also in audio elements that support storytelling. One of the most important audio components is the use of sound effects, particularly in situation comedy programs where humor relies heavily on rhythm and audience response. This final project aims to describe the implementation of sound effects to support comedic elements in the situation comedy program Takhayul through the author's role as a Sound Designer. This study employs a descriptive method with a creative production approach by explaining the work process carried out during the pre-production, production, and post-production stages. During pre-production, the author analyzed the script, discussed the audio concept with the director, observed the shooting locations, and prepared a list of required sound effects. During production, the author supervised the audio recording process and prepared sound reports. In the post-production stage, the author selected, edited, synchronized, mixed, and mastered the audio using Adobe Audition while integrating various sound effects obtained from digital sound libraries. The results indicate that properly selected and synchronized sound effects, combined with effective comic timing, successfully enhance character actions, expressions, atmosphere, and the delivery of comedic moments in Takhayul. Therefore, sound effects function not only as complementary audio elements but also as essential components that enhance the artistic quality and storytelling effectiveness of audiovisual productions.

Perkembangan industri audiovisual mendorong peningkatan kualitas produksi, tidak hanya pada aspek visual, tetapi juga pada unsur audio yang berperan dalam mendukung penyampaian cerita. Salah satu elemen audio yang memiliki peran penting adalah sound effect, terutama pada program situasi komedi yang mengandalkan ketepatan ritme humor dan respons penonton. Tugas akhir ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan proses penerapan sound effect untuk mendukung unsur komedi pada program situasi komedi Takhayul melalui peran penulis sebagai Penata Suara (Sound Designer). Metode yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan penciptaan karya, yaitu menguraikan proses kerja yang dilakukan mulai dari tahap praproduksi, produksi, hingga pascaproduksi. Pada tahap praproduksi, penulis melakukan analisis naskah, diskusi dengan sutradara, observasi lokasi, serta menyusun kebutuhan sound effect. Tahap produksi difokuskan pada pengawasan proses perekaman audio dan penyusunan sound report. Selanjutnya, pada tahap pascaproduksi penulis melakukan pemilihan, penyuntingan, sinkronisasi, mixing, dan mastering menggunakan Adobe Audition dengan memanfaatkan berbagai sound effect yang diperoleh dari pustaka suara digital. Hasil karya menunjukkan bahwa penerapan sound effect yang dirancang sesuai dengan kebutuhan adegan, sinkron dengan visual, serta memperhatikan comic timing mampu memperkuat aksi, ekspresi tokoh, membangun suasana, dan meningkatkan efektivitas penyampaian unsur komedi pada program Takhayul. Dengan demikian, sound effect tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai pelengkap audio, tetapi juga menjadi unsur penting yang mendukung kualitas artistik dan penyampaian cerita dalam karya audiovisual.
