Abstract

It is important to create play experiences that are not only fun but also educational.
This Final Report discusses the application of game-based learning in the design
context of the game "My Little Garden." This game is based on the concern about
the lack of gardening-themed games in Indonesia. It aims to integrate education
into entertainment through gameplay, providing children with a simulation of basic
agricultural techniques, such as planting, caring for, and harvesting crops, and
introducing them to various fruits and vegetables. Game-based learning can be a
breakthrough method to create a learning environment that captures students'
interest, allowing them to absorb material more efficiently. Several mini-game
features are included to provide gameplay variety for the target users, children
aged 4-7 years. This game was developed using the GDLC method. Data was
collected through questionnaires and interviews, and the questionnaires were
evaluated using the Likert scale. Based on the testing results, it can be concluded
that the acceptance level among 30 child respondents for the game My Little
Garden falls into the highly accepted category, with an average overall aspect
index of 93.64%. Children were able to play the game well and understand the
knowledge about plants and basic agricultural techniques.

Penting untuk menciptakan pengalaman bermain yang tidak hanya
menyenangkan, tetapi juga mendidik. Laporan Akhir ini membahas penerapan
game based learning pada konteks perancangan game "Kebun Miniku". Game ini
didasari dengan keresahan yang ada tentang sedikitnya game di Indonesia yang
bertemakan berkebun. Game ini bertujuan untuk menggabungkan pendidikan ke
dalam hiburan melalui sebuah permainan. Memberikan simulasi kepada anakanak tentang teknik pertanian dasar yaitu, menanam, merawat, dan memanen
tanaman. Memberikan sisi edukasi dengan adanya pengenalan buah dan sayur.
Game based learning dapat menjadi salah satu terobosan baru untuk menciptakan
suasana pembelajaran yang menarik minat peserta didik sehingga dapat menyerap
materi dengan lebih efisien. Beberapa fitur mini games dihadirkan untuk
memberikan variasi permainan kepada target pengguna anak-anak usia 4-7 tahun.
Dalam pengembangan game ini menggunakan metode GDLC. Dalam
pengumpulan data diambil dengan cara kuesioner dan wawancara, perhitungan
kuesioner menggunakan skala Likert. Dari hasil pengujian dapat disimpulkan
bahwa tingkat penerimaan responden 30 anak terhadap game Kebun Miniku
masuk pada kategori sangat diterima dengan hasil indeks rata-rata aspek
keseluruhan sebesar 93,64%. Anak-anak dapat memainkan game dengan baik dan
dapat memahami materi pengetahuan mengenai tumbuhan dan teknik pertanian
dasar.
