IDENTIFIKASI PERMASALAHAN PADA PROSES PRA CETAK MENGGUNAKAN MESIN CTP LUXEL T-9500 DI PT GRAFIKA MEDIA SOLUSINDO

ABSTRACT
There are problems in the pre-press division at PT Grafika Media Solusindo (Gradasi)
which is engaged in printing which produces books and other offset prints. The purpose of
this paper is to identify the kinds of problems during the pre-press process at PT Gradasi,
find out the causes of the problems in the pre-press at PT Gradasi, and find out the solutions
to the problems of the pre-press process at PT Gradasi. The pre-press section is the initial
stage in the printing process starting from the data and material input process, print ready
files (final artwork), output in the form of printing plates. CtP (Computer to Plate) is
making a print reference from a computer directly into a reference. The methods used in
writing this final project are observation, interviews and literature studies. Problems that
occur in the pre-press section include page preparation errors in the imposition process,
damaged printing plates, scratchy printing plates, and so on. The problems are grouped
based on the categories of man, method, machine, and environment using a fishbone
diagram. The cause of page preparation errors is due to human error factors (pre-print
operators) who are less focused and thorough in their work, then the cause of the problem
with damaged printing plates is due to the tilted position of the plate when inserted into the
processor machine, the problem with beret plates is due to the roll on the processor
machine that has hardened and the surface of the roll is uneven. The solution to page
preparation errors can use the automatic imposition application and the operator works
with focus, then the solution to the problem of damaged plates when inserting the plate
must refer to the dividing line in the processor machine, the solution to the scratchy plate
problem by replacing the rolls on the processor machine.

ABSTRAK
Terjadi permasalahan pada divisi pra cetak di PT Grafika Media Solusindo (Gradasi) yang
bergerak dalam bidang percetakan yang memproduksi buku dan cetakan offset lainnya.
Tujuan dari penulisan ini adalah mengidentifikasi permasalahan saat proses pra cetak,
mengetahui penyebab dari permasalahan pada pra cetak, dan mengetahui solusi dari
permasalahan proses pra cetak di PT Gradasi. CtP (Computer to Plate) yaitu membuat
acuan cetak dari komputer langsung jadi acuan. Metode yang digunakan dalam penulisan
tugas akhir ini adalah observasi, wawancara serta studi pustaka. Permasalahan yang terjadi
pada bagian pra cetak antara lain kesalahan penyusunan halaman pada proses imposisi,
pelat cetak yang rusak, pelat cetak baret, dan sebagainya. Permasalahan dikelompokkan
berdasarkan ketegori man, method, machine, dan environment menggunakan diagram
fishbone. Penyebab dari kesalahan penyusunan halaman karena faktor kesalahan manusia
(operator pra cetak) yang kurang fokus dan teliti dalam bekerja, kemudian penyebab
permasalahan pada pelat cetak yang rusak dikarenakan posisi pelat yang miring saat
dimasukkan kedalam mesin prosesor, permasalahan pada pelat baret disebabkan roll pada
mesin prosesor yang sudah mengeras dan permukaan tpada roll tidak rata. Solusi dari
kesalahan penyusunan halaman dapat menggunakan aplikasi imposisi otomatis dan
operator bekerja dengan fokus, kemudian solusi permasalahan pelat rusak saat
memasukkan pelat harus mengacu pada garis pembatas yang berada dimesin prosesor,
solusi permasalahan pelat baret dengan mengganti roll- roll pada mesin prosesor.
