“PERANCANGAN DESAIN SAMPUL DAN TATA LETAK NOVELET “RATUSAN CARA UNTUK BAPAK

Thisfinal project report discusses the design of the cover and layout of the novelette
"Hundred Ways to Mr.". The background of this writing is based on the importance
of an attractive cover design and layout to increase reading interest, especially
among the younger generation. A good graphic design not only functions as a
physical protector of the book but also as a visual attraction that illustrates the
content of the story. The method used includes pre-production, production, and
post-production stages. In the pre-production stage, a literature study and team
discussion were conducted to determine the design concept. The production stage
involved sketching, typography selection, and color application using Adobe
Illustrator 2021 software. The post-production stage includes revision and
finalization of the design based on feedback from the supervisor and the team. The
result of this design is a cover design with silhouette illustrations and a dominant
sky blue color that reflects the theme of the story. The layout of the book content is
arranged in such a way as to provide reading comfort, with additional illustrations
and song barcodes that support the atmosphere of the story. This design is expected
to attract readers and increase book sales in the market, as well as make a positive
contribution to the publishing world in Indonesia.

Laporan tugas akhir ini membahas perancangan desain sampul dan tata letak
novelet “Ratusan Cara Untuk Bapak”. Latar belakang penulisan ini didasarkan pada
pentingnya desain sampul dan tata letak yang menarik untuk meningkatkan minat
baca, khususnya di kalangan generasi muda. Desain grafis yang baik tidak hanya
berfungsi sebagai pelindung fisik buku tetapi juga sebagai daya tarik visual yang
menggambarkan isi cerita. Metode yang digunakan meliputi tahapan pra-produksi,
produksi, dan pasca-produksi. Pada tahap pra-produksi, dilakukan studi pustaka dan
diskusi tim untuk menentukan konsep desain. Tahap produksi melibatkan
pembuatan sketsa, pemilihan tipografi, dan aplikasi warna menggunakan software
Adobe Illustrator 2021. Tahap pasca-produksi mencakup revisi dan finalisasi desain
berdasarkan masukan dari pembimbing dan tim. Hasil dari perancangan ini adalah
desain sampul dengan ilustrasi siluet dan warna dominan biru langit yang
mencerminkan tema cerita. Tata letak isi buku diatur sedemikian rupa untuk
memberikan kenyamanan membaca, dengan tambahan ilustrasi dan barcode lagu
yang mendukung suasana cerita. Desain ini diharapkan dapat menarik minat
pembaca dan meningkatkan penjualan buku di pasaran, serta memberikan
kontribusi positif bagi dunia penerbitan di Indonesia.
