PERAN EDITOR DALAM PENERAPAN MOTION GRAPHIC LIVE EDITING PADA PROGRAM LIVE SKETSA KOMEDI “BUKAN KAMPUS BIASA”

The television program “Bukan Kampus Biasa” is a live sketch comedy show designed as a response to the lack of similar programs in Indonesia that utilize live motion graphics, as well as the challenge of retaining a young audience. The purpose of this thesis is to describe the role, duties, and responsibilities of an editor in developing the concept of “Live Motion Graphic Editing” to enrich the comedy narrative. According to Rusman Latief (2020:136), traditionally, an editor is responsible for cutting and arranging images and sounds from recorded footage, which is part of the post-production process. Based on the theory of live editing and the narrative function of motion graphics, the role of the editor is expanded from merely a post-production editor to a real-time creative visual executor. The implementation method of this work involves three systematic stages: pre-production for designing all visual assets (logo, OBB, motion graphic plot); production, where the writer acts as an operator inserting graphics according to the script flow; and postproduction focused on evaluation and archiving. The discussion results indicate that the use of motion graphic plots is a crucial and effective element in guiding the audience through the non-linear narrative flow of the sketch, ensuring the story remains easy to follow. It is concluded that this directly executed visual innovation successfully enriches the comedic narrative, creating a more dynamic and interactive performance, and underscores the evolution of the editor's role as an integral and determining component in a live show.

Program televisi "Bukan Kampus Biasa" merupakan sebuah siaran langsung berformat sketsa komedi yang dirancang sebagai jawaban atas minimnya program sejenis di Indonesia yang memanfaatkan motion graphic secara live, serta tantangan dalam mempertahankan audiens muda. Penulisan tugas akhir ini bertujuan untuk menguraikan peran, tugas, dan tanggung jawab seorang editor dalam mengembangkan konsep ‘Motion Graphic Live Editing’ untuk memperkaya narasi komedi. Menurut Rusman Latief (2020:136), editor secara tradisional adalah pihak yang bertugas memotong dan menyusun gambar serta suara dari hasil rekaman, yang merupakan bagian dari proses pascaproduksi. Dengan landasan teori live editing dan fungsi naratif motion graphic, peran editor diperluas dari sekadar penyunting pascaproduksi menjadi eksekutor visual kreatif secara real-time. Metode pelaksanaan karya ini meliputi tiga tahap sistematis: pra-produksi untuk perancangan seluruh aset visual (logo, OBB, motion graphic plot); produksi, di mana penulis bertindak sebagai operator yang menyisipkan grafis sesuai alur naskah; dan pascaproduksi yang berfokus pada evaluasi dan pengarsipan. Hasil pembahasan menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan motion graphic plot menjadi elemen krusial yang efektif dalam memandu audiens melalui alur cerita sketsa yang tidak linear, sehingga menjaga narasi tetap mudah dipahami. Disimpulkan bahwa inovasi visual yang dieksekusi secara langsung ini terbukti berhasil memperkaya narasi komedi, menciptakan tayangan yang lebih dinamis dan interaktif, serta menegaskan evolusi peran editor sebagai komponen determinan yang integral dalam sebuah pertunjukan langsung.
