PERAN PROGRAM DIRECTOR DALAM MENERAPKAN MULTICAMERA RECORDING PADA TALKSHOW “CELL NO. 4”

Penelitian ini membahas peran Program Director (PD) dalam produksi program talkshow bertema kriminal berjudul “Cell No. 4” yang menggunakan teknik multicamera recording. Program ini dirancang untuk menyampaikan informasi dan edukasi kepada masyarakat melalui pendekatan visual yang komunikatif dan menarik, tanpa mengabaikan nilai-nilai etis dalam menyampaikan isu-isu sensitif. Dalam produksi ini, PD bertanggung jawab atas seluruh tahapan proses, mulai dari pra- produksi, produksi, hingga pasca-produksi, termasuk menentukan peralatan teknis, pengaturan blocking kamera, serta pengawasan terhadap kualitas visual dan naratif. Meskipun tanpa sistem switching secara langsung, hasil produksi tetap mampu menyajikan tampilan visual yang efektif dan sesuai dengan konsep. Studi ini diharapkan dapat menjadi referensi dalam produksi program sejenis, terutama dalam kondisi keterbatasan alat namun tetap mengedepankan kualitas tayangan.

This study discusses the role of the Program Director (PD) in producing a crime- themed talk show titled “Cell No. 4”, which applies a multicamera technique recording. The program is designed to deliver educational and informative content to the public through a compelling and communicative visual approach while upholding ethical standards in presenting sensitive topics. In this production, the PD is responsible for overseeing all stages of the process from pre-production, production, to post-production including the selection of technical equipment, camera blocking arrangements, and supervision of both visual and narrative quality. Despite the absence of a live switching system, the final output successfully delivers effective visuals that align with the program’s concept. This study is expected to serve as a reference for similar television productions, especially in situations with limited technical resources but high creative demands.
