KOLEKSI BUSANA ALAIYA HERMIL EDISI UPCYCLE DENIM DALAM FOTOGRAFI FESYEN

The fashion industry is currently facing major challenges in addressing
textile waste, particularly denim waste generated by mass production
processes. One approach to reducing environmental impact is through
upcycling, which transforms fabric waste into new fashion products
with both aesthetic and commercial value. This final project focuses on
the visualization of the Upcycle Denim fashion collection by Alaiya
Hermil, in collaboration with PT Craft Trend Inovasi (Craft Denim), a
local brand based in Pekalongan that utilizes traditional non-machine
weaving (ATBM). The main issues addressed are the limited public
awareness of Alaiya Hermil's fashion collections and the need to further
develop sustainable fashion concepts within the local fashion industry.
This project aims to showcase Alaiya Hermil’s collection in
collaboration with PT Craft Denim while promoting the development of
sustainable fashion concepts through visual approaches. Fashion
photography is used to highlight the uniqueness of the designs, the value
of zero waste, and the aesthetic of patchwork and slash quilt techniques.
The method involves fashion photography exploration approach,
including lighting setup, composition, model expression, and location
selection to enhance the character of the garments. The final outcome
is a series of fashion photographs intended for digital promotion,
strengthening brand identity, and increasing the visibility of Alaiya
Hermil's collection among a broader audience.

Industri fesyen saat ini menghadapi tantangan besar dalam mengatasi
limbah tekstil, khususnya limbah denim yang dihasilkan oleh proses
produksi massal. Salah satu pendekatan untuk mengurangi dampak
lingkungan tersebut adalah melalui upcycling, yaitu mendaur ulang
limbah kain menjadi produk busana baru yang memiliki nilai estetika dan
komersial. Tugas akhir ini berfokus pada visualisasi koleksi busana edisi
Upcycle Denim karya Alaiya Hermil, hasil kolaborasi dengan PT Craft
Trend Inovasi (Craft Denim), sebuah brand lokal di Pekalongan yang
menggunakan Alat Tenun Bukan Mesin (ATBM). Permasalahan utama
yang diangkat adalah rendahnya tingkat pengetahuan masyarakat
terhadap koleksi busana Alaiya Hermil serta pentingnya pengembangan
konsep sustainable fashion dalam industri mode lokal. Penelitian ini
bertujuan untuk menampilkan koleksi busana Alaiya Hermil sebagai
bentuk kolaborasi dengan PT Craft Denim, sekaligus mengembangkan
konsep fesyen berkelanjutan melalui fotografi fesyen. Visualisasi
fotografi fesyen digunakan untuk menonjolkan keunikan desain, nilai
zero waste, serta estetika teknik patchwork dan slash quilt. Metode yang
digunakan adalah eksplorasi fotografi fesyen , termasuk pengaturan
pencahayaan, komposisi, ekspresi model, dan pemilihan lokasi untuk
memperkuat karakter busana. Hasil akhir berupa serangkaian foto fesyen
yang ditujukan untuk promosi digital serta memperkuat citra brand,
sekaligus meningkatkan visibilitas koleksi busana Alaiya Hermil di mata
masyarakat luas.
