PERANCANGAN BUSANA READY TO WEAR DENGAN TEKNIK SHIBORI (STUDI KASUS: KOMUNITAS MESSES)

This research stems from the resurgence in popularity of cottagecore fashion,
which is highly sought after by a group of young women who are members of the
Messes Community, a fan group of Nadin Amizah. The Messes Community enjoys
wearing clothing resembling that worn by their musical idol, Nadin Amizah. This
research aims to identify and present broader business opportunities for ready-to
wear fashion production by following existing trends and combining them with the
traditional Japanese dyeing technique, Shibori. This research uses the Design
Thinking approach from the Hasso Plattner Institute, Stanford University, which
includes the stages of empathize, define, ideate, prototype, and test.
The study concludes that the design of ready-to-wear clothing with a cottagecore
concept and shibori technique has great potential to support the growth of the
fashion business.

Penelitian ini berangkat dari fenomena meningkatnya kembali popularitas busana
bergaya cottagecore yang sangat diminati oleh kelompok perempuan muda yang
tergabung dalam Komunitas Messes yaitu kelompok penggemar Nadin Amizah.
Komunitas Messes ini sangat senang menggunakan busana menyerupai busana
yang dikenakan oleh musisi idolanya, yaitu Nadin Amizah. Penelitian ini
bertujuan untuk melihat dan menghadirkan peluang bisnis produksi busana ready
to
wear yang lebih luas dengan mengikuti tren yang ada, sekaligus
mengombinasikannya dengan teknik pewarnaan tradisional Jepang, yaitu teknik
Shibori. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan Design Thinking dari Hasso
Plattner Institute, Stanford University, yang mencakup tahapan empathize,
define, ideate, prototype, dan test.
Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa desain busana ready to wear dengan konsep
cottagecore dan teknik shibori memiliki potensi besar dalam mendukung
pertumbuhan bisnis fashion.
