MODIFIKASI HANBOK KOREA MODERN DENGAN EKSPLORASI MOTIF BELIMBING BATIK DEPOK PADA FIORELLYA BY DWEE

Hanbok is a traditional Korean attire that represents the cultural identity and aesthetic values of South Korea. As the fashion industry continues to evolve, hanbok has undergone various modifications to appear more modern and accessible to wider audiences, particularly among the younger generation. This design project introduces a modified Korean hanbok combined with the starfruit motif of Batik Depok to create a contemporary ethnic garment relevant to today’s youth. The design process applies the Design Thinking approach, consisting of five stages: Empathize, Define, Ideate, Prototype, and Test. Through this process, a modern hanbok-inspired outerwear was developed, incorporating Depok’s local motifs while emphasizing functionality, aesthetics, and cultural value. The final outcome is presented through design visualization, motif exploration, material selection, and a completed garment under the brand “Fiorellya by Dwee.” This work is expected to serve as an inspiration for developing fashion designs that harmoniously integrate local and global cultures.

Hanbok merupakan pakaian tradisional Korea yang mencerminkan identitas budaya dan estetika negeri ginseng. Seiring berkembangnya dunia fesyen, hanbok mengalami banyak modifikasi agar lebih modern dan dapat diterima oleh berbagai kalangan, termasuk remaja. Perancangan ini mengangkat ide modifikasi hanbok Korea yang dipadukan dengan motif belimbing dari Batik Depok untuk menciptakan busana etnik modern yang relevan bagi remaja masa kini. Metode perancangan mengacu pada pendekatan Design Thinking dengan lima tahapan: Empathize, Define, Ideate, Prototype, dan Test. Proses ini menghasilkan rancangan busana hanbok modern dengan sentuhan motif lokal khas Depok serta mempertimbangkan aspek fungsi, estetika, dan nilai budaya. Hasil akhirnya dituangkan dalam bentuk visualisasi desain, eksplorai motif, pemilihan bahan, hingga produk jadi yang ditampilkan dalam brand “Fiorellya by Dwee”. Karya ini diharapkan menjadi inspirasi dalam pengembangan busana yang menggabungkan budaya lokal dan global secara harmonis.
