PENGEMBANGAN PLOT NASKAH NOVELET “REUNI TAK TERDUGA” DENGAN FORMAT SAVE THE CAT

The novelette manuscript “Reuni tak Terduga” is a manuscript that the author and
his team produced as their final assignment for the Publishing Study Program. This
novelette manuscript has a mystery genre that focuses on past problems and the
dark side of humans. The author wants to create a novelette with an ergodic
literature format to provide a different experience for readers in reading mystery
novelettes. “Reuni tak Terduga” gives two choices of reading methods, including
reading sequentially according to the chapter number or reading according to the
character's chapter focus. In its preparation, the author used Brody (2022) theory
with the Save the Cat method which is divided into fifteen plot points into three
world chapters to develop a structured plot. Act one is the beginning consisting of
the opening image, theme stated, set-up, catalyst, and debate. Act two is a process
of character development, consisting of plot points break into 2, b story, fun and
games, midpoint, bad guy close in, all is lost, and dark night of the soul. Act three
is the combined result of the process of act one and act two which is divided into
plot points break into 3, finale, and final image.

Naskah novelet “Reuni tak Terduga” merupakan naskah yang penulis dan tim
hasilkan sebagai karya tugas akhir Program Studi Penerbitan. Naskah novelet ini
memiliki genre misteri yang berfokus kepada permasalahan masa lalu dan sisi gelap
manusia. Penulis membuat karya novelet dengan gaya format sastra ergodik untuk
memberikan pengalaman berbeda bagi pembaca dalam membaca novelet misteri.
“Reuni Tak Terduga” memberi dua pilihan cara membaca, di antaranya bisa dibaca
secara berurutan sesuai dengan nomor bab atau membaca sesuai dengan fokus bab
karakternya. Dalam penyusunannya, penulis menggunakan teori Brody (2022)
dengan metode Save the Cat yang terbagi menjadi lima belas titik plot ke dalam
tiga babak dunia untuk mengembangkan plot agar terstruktur. Babak satu
merupakan awal mula yang terdiri atas titik plot gambaran pembuka, pernyataan
tema, persiapan, katalis, dan debat. Babak dua sebagai proses perkembangan
karakter, terdiri atas titik plot menerobos ke babak 2, cerita b, keseruan, titik tengah,
musuh mendekat, semua musnah, dan kegelapan jiwa. Babak tiga sebagai hasil
gabungan dari proses babak satu dan babak dua yang terbagi menjadi titik plot
menerobos ke babak 3, klimaks, dan gambaran penutup.
