Abstract
Kondisi hutan di Indonesia yang terus menyusut hingga 95,5 juta hektar akibat pembalakan liar mendorong pembuatan film animasi pendek "TERJANG" sebagai media edukasi bagi anak usia 8-10 tahun. Namun, pemodelan rambut halus karakter Tarsius menghadapi kendala teknis di mana penggunaan simulasi partikel (strand) membutuhkan performa komputasi tinggi yang menghambat efisiensi alur kerja. Sebagai solusi, penelitian ini menerapkan metode mesh hair card yang dioptimalkan melalui fitur Geometry Nodes dan Empty Hair pada perangkat lunak Blender. Melalui sistem layering terstruktur (base, breakup, flyaway) dan segmentasi alur rambut yang sistematis, aset karakter berhasil dikembangkan dengan struktur geometry yang efisien namun tetap rimbun. Implementasi teknik ini terbukti mampu menyeimbangkan realisme visual dengan efisiensi performa, sehingga mendukung kelancaran proses rendering menggunakan render Eevee untuk mewujudkan film animasi sebagai instrumen narasi pelestarian hutan Indonesia.

The condition of forests in Indonesia which continues to shrink to 95.5 million hectares due to illegal logging encourages the making of the short animated film "TERJANG" as an educational medium for children aged 8-10 years. However, the modeling of the Tarsius character's fine hair faces technical constraints where the use of particle (strand) simulation requires high computational performance that hinders workflow efficiency. As a solution, this study applies a mesh hair card method that is optimized through the Geometry Nodes and Empty Hair features in the Blender software. Through a structured layering system (base, breakup, flyaway) and systematic segmentation of hair grooves, character assets are successfully developed with an efficient but still lush geometric structure. The implementation of this technique has been proven to be able to balance visual realism with performance efficiency, thus supporting the smooth rendering process using the Eevee engine to realize animated films as narrative instruments for Indonesian forest conservation
