PERANCANGAN VISUAL BOOK PERAYAAN 10 TAHUN BASBOI DALAM PERJALANAN BERMUSIK DI INDONESIA

ABSTRACT
This final project discusses the design of a visual book as a medium to document and represent the 10-year musical journey of Basboi in the Indonesian music industry. The background of this project is based on the importance of visual media in strengthening a musician’s identity and presenting their creative journey in a more structured and engaging way. The purpose of this design is to produce a visual book that is able to communicate the narrative of Basboi’s musical development through a combination of visual elements such as photography, typography, illustration, and layout. The theoretical foundation used includes graphic design, visual communication, layout, and photography as storytelling media. The methods applied in this project consist of observation, direct interviews with the musician, and literature study from various relevant sources. The results of this design are presented in the form of a visual book supported by complementary media, which together aim to create an emotional connection between the artist and the audience. In conclusion, the visual book serves not only as documentation but also as a representation of identity and creative expression.

ABSTRAK
Laporan tugas akhir ini membahas perancangan visual book sebagai media dokumentasi dan representasi perjalanan bermusik selama 10 tahun Basboi di industri musik Indonesia. Latar belakang perancangan ini didasarkan pada pentingnya media visual dalam memperkuat identitas musisi serta menyajikan perjalanan kreatif secara lebih terstruktur dan menarik. Tujuan dari perancangan ini adalah menghasilkan visual book yang mampu menyampaikan narasi perkembangan bermusik Basboi melalui pengolahan elemen visual seperti fotografi, tipografi, ilustrasi, dan tata letak. Landasan teori yang digunakan meliputi desain grafis, komunikasi visual, tata letak, serta fotografi sebagai media storytelling. Metode yang digunakan dalam perancangan ini meliputi observasi, wawancara langsung dengan narasumber, serta studi pustaka dari berbagai sumber relevan. Hasil perancangan berupa visual book yang didukung oleh media pendukung lainnya, yang secara keseluruhan bertujuan membangun kedekatan emosional antara musisi dan audiens. Kesimpulan dari perancangan ini adalah visual book tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai media dokumentasi, tetapi juga sebagai representasi identitas dan ekspresi kreatif.
