PENERAPAN KOMPOSISI VISUAL DALAM PENCIPTAAN STORYBOARD DALAM FILM ANIMASI PENDEK 3D “SYNERGY”

ABSTRACT
This study is made with the intention of explaining and analyzing the usage of visual composition techniques in the creation of the illustrations of the storyboard for the 3D animated short film "Synergy," whose target audience is children. The ADDIE method is used to break down the process from the planning of the necessity of illustrations, to developing the illustrations further, to evaluating of the results, where each shot is reviewed for its use of the principles of visual composition. The results of this study indicate that the implementation of the principles of visual composition is adequate as a reference for the next steps in the animation production process. Based on the percentages during evaluation, of the five principles, Leading Lines was at 84.6%, Framing at 66.3%, Balance at 57.7%, Contrast at 55.7%, and the Rule of Thirds at 52.8%. The Leading Lines principle had the highest presentation because the need for its use required line consistency across most storyboard shots.

Studi ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk menjelaskan dan menganalisis penggunaan teknik komposisi visual dalam pembuatan ilustrasi storyboard untuk film pendek animasi 3D "Synergy," yang ditargetkan untuk audiens anak-anak. Metode ADDIE digunakan untuk memecah proses dari perencanaan kebutuhan ilustrasi, pengembangan ilustrasi lebih lanjut, hingga evaluasi akhir, di mana setiap adegan ditinjau berdasarkan penggunaan prinsip komposisi visual. Hasil dari studi ini menunjukkan bahwa implementasi prinsip komposisi visual memadai sebagai referensi langkah selanjutnya dalam proses produksi film animasi. Berdasarkan persentase di bagian evaluasi, dari kelima prinsip itu, Leading Lines pada 84,6%, Framing pada 66,3%, Balance pada 57,7%, Contrast pada 55,7%, dan Rule of Thirds pada 52,8%. Prinsip Leading Lines mempunyai presentasi tertinggi dikarenakan kebutuhan penggunaan prinsip tersebut diperlukan adanya konsistensi garis pada sebagian besar shot storyboard.
