Penerapan Struktur 5 Babak dalam Penulisan Naskah Animasi 2D “Cost of Desire”

Laporan Tugas Akhir ini bertujuan menerapkan struktur narasi lima babak dalam perancangan naskah film animasi 2D Cost of Desire untuk membangun perkembangan karakter tokoh utama sekaligus mengangkat isu perilaku konsumtif remaja akibat pengaruh media sosial. Metode yang digunakan adalah Practice-Based Research dengan teknik pengumpulan data berupa observasi, kuesioner, studi pustaka, dan wawancara ahli. Hasil kuesioner terhadap 100 responden berusia 13–21 tahun menunjukkan bahwa 82% responden pernah membeli barang karena takut tertinggal tren dan 85% pernah melakukan pembelian impulsif setelah melihat konten di media sosial. Data tersebut menjadi dasar dalam penyusunan konflik dan perkembangan karakter pada naskah. Hasil perancangan menunjukkan bahwa penerapan struktur narasi lima babak menghasilkan alur cerita yang runtut serta mendukung perkembangan karakter tokoh utama secara bertahap. Hasil wawancara ahli juga menunjukkan bahwa struktur cerita telah tersusun dengan baik, meskipun proses perubahan karakter masih perlu diperkuat agar lebih meyakinkan. Dengan demikian, struktur narasi lima babak efektif diterapkan dalam perancangan naskah film animasi 2D Cost of Desire.

This final project report aims to apply the five-act narrative structure in designing the script for the 2D animated film Cost of Desire to develop the main character while addressing adolescent consumptive behavior influenced by social media. The project employed the Practice-Based Research method with data collection through observation, questionnaires, literature review, and expert interviews. Questionnaire results from 100 respondents aged 13–21 indicated that 82% had purchased products to avoid being left behind by trends, while 85% had made impulsive purchases after viewing social media content. These findings served as the basis for developing the story's conflict and character. The design process demonstrates that the five-act narrative structure produces a coherent storyline and supports the gradual development of the main character. Expert interviews also indicated that the narrative structure was well organized, although the character transformation process could be strengthened to make it more convincing. Therefore, the five-act narrative structure is effective for designing the script of the 2D animated film Cost of Desire.
