PERANCANGAN FILM PENDEK ANIMASI JACK AND JUN DALAM PENGERJAAN STORYBOARD, 3D ENVIRONMENT ANIMATING DAN COMPOSITING

This final assignment report contains the design of the animated short film Jack and
Jun. This film shows the importance of caring for pet owners towards their pets.
The welfare of pets depends greatly on their owners. Domestic animated films have
not been able to compete with foreign animated films. This is the cause of the lack
of audience interest in domestic animated films. This problem became the idea
behind the creation of the animated short film "Jack and Jun". In the process of
creating the work, the author plays a role in designing the storyboard, 3D
environment. animating and compositing. In the design process, the theories used
refer to the book Animation: From Concepts and Production which provides a guide
to the animation design stages from pre-production to production. This research
uses a work creation method with data collection techniques, namely observation
and literature study. The result of the creation of this work is the animated short
film "Jack and Jun" with a duration of 6 minutes 5 seconds. The process of
designing this film has provided a lot of knowledge regarding designing a good and
correct short animated film.

Laporan tugas akhir ini berisi tentang perancangan film pendek animasi Jack and
Jun. Film ini memperlihatkan pentingnya kepedulian pemilik hewan terhadap
hewan peliharaannya. Kesejahteraan hewan peliharaan sangat bergantung dengan
pemiliknya. Adapun film animasi dalam negeri belum mampu bersaing dengan film
animasi produk luar negeri. Hal ini menjadi penyebab kurangnya minat penonton
terhadap film animasi dalam negeri. Permasalahan ini menjadi ide yang melandasi
penciptaan karya berupa film pendek animasi “Jack and Jun”. Pada proses
penciptaan karya, penulis berperan dalam perancangan storyboard, 3D
environment. animating dan compositing. Pada proses perancangan, teori-teori
yang digunakan mengacu pada buku Animation: From Concepts and Production
yang memberikan panduan tahap perancangan animasi mulai dari pre-production
hingga produksi. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penciptaan karya dengan
teknik pengumpulan data yakni observasi dan studi literatur. Adapun hasil dari
penciptaan karya ini adalah film pendek animasi “Jack and Jun” dengan durasi 6
menit 5 detik. Dari proses perancangan film ini telah memberikan banyak ilmu
terkait perancangan sebuah film animasi pendek yang baik dan benar.
